Printing methods
In Locura Textil work with the printing technologies that are best suited to each one of the products that we customize. From the textile screen printing traditional, The latest transfer textile as it is the DTF, the latest in textile printing like Textile Printing Direct or Dtg direct to garment or sublimation.
We also have teams of large format printing for printing stickers, magnets, canvas, vinyl, textile printing and cutting, we have a printer UVI for rigid materials and cylindrical and with a tape recorder, laser cutter to cut and/or marking of the rest of the products to the extent possible not dejarnar no option, without offering to our customers.
The basis of our work is done on these types of technology, each of them suitable to the type of work required:
Screen printing
Silk screen printing is one of the methods of printing most commonly used for many items, both of customization as products of consumption promotional. This method of printing allows us to print very durable, due to the type of inks used, with a very low price and very good definition. It is the recommended printing method for spins larger of t-shirts and hoodies personalized, with few colors and fast production. The process can be summarized in the following way:
- The designs are vectorizan and makes a separation of colors.
- Once separated the colors, we performed a screen for each color, in our case we do thermal screens without the use of chemicals or emulsions, without film or water consumption for cleaning the screens. An ecological system to produce screens for screen printing, which respects the environment by eliminating waste ending up in the network of drains.
- We proceed to apply the product every one of the colors, making a drying between them.
- Once applied the inks of each of the colors is the final curing of the product with a drying tunnel.
The advantages of this method of printing are getting print quality and resistance to washing very good, with a very low price.
Recommended works of screen printing for:
- Spins of not less than 50 units in designs to color or 100 units on for designs with two or more colors.
- Designs without gradients and with limited number of colors to avoid costs of screens and production times.
- Prints on materials of varying composition which does not allow their marking with other techniques.
Do not recommend screen printing for:
- Few units of printing, would not cost-effective manufacturing of screens for screen printing.
- Designs with gradients or color. They are easier and cheaper to produce in systems such as direct printing or sublimation.
For these reasons, we will recommend the work in screen printing for prints of not less than 50 units, to print a single colour and more than 100 designs of 2 or more colors.
Direct printing DTG
This technology allows us to print full-colour layouts, without incurring extra costs of screens or film. From a single garment, and with a soft touch finish and a duration to the washed optimal
The results in this type of direct printing are fabulous when you try to design quality, allows a good definition of details and the use of digital technology, the designs are adapted in function of the size of the garments.
Direct printing or DTG, is the method of printing the current most commonly used for customization of t-shirts and hoodies. To allow for single units, facilitates the work of customization, coupled with the great demand of customized products makes this system one of the most important in the sector.
Direct printing is recommended for:
- Work with complex designs to all color and gradients on white clothing, or the color of cotton.
- Custom jobs for a few units or a different type of garments at the same time.
- Jobs of many units with complex designs to full-color.
- For white t-shirts cotton or polyester with designs to full-color, perhaps being the most economical of all of the systems.
It is not recommended to print direct to:
- Large or small batch with designs to one or two colours, for these jobs is more economical screen printing.
- Printing on colored garments in polyester or high-percentage composition of this material; the need to white base it is impossible to fix this well base to then apply the color.
- Impressions of a great size; the cost of printing is multiplied exponentially as the size of the design increases.
The benefits of Direct Printing therefore be summarized in:
- High-quality prints that allow you to print designs to full-color garments in any color and size.
- Good resistance to washing and a touch of impressions, very soft.
- It is possible to make single units and small and medium print runs.
- Designs to print do not need a previous preparation made by a professional.
- Ease of repeating work already done with only recover the files.
Textile vinyl
The textile vinyl is a method of customization textile widely used within the industry due to the low cost of the product and the machinery that is needed for its realization.
El proceso es rápido y sencillo, a través de un programa se vectorizan los logotipos, se preparan las medidas que deben de tener y se envían a la máquina que realiza el corte del material. Una vez realizado el corte se procede con el “pelado”del material, que consiste en retirar todas aquellas partes del vinilo que no pertenecen al logotipo y posteriormente se adhiere a la prenda utilizando una plancha especial que le proporciona al tiempo calor y presión. El vinilo se adhiere a la prenda al calentar el adhesivo que lleva en una de sus caras.
The advantages of this system are lower cost, good adhesion on all types of materials(polyester,licras,etc...) and the intensity of the colors, since it is a synthetic material(plastic) that enables a high-intensity colors. It is ideal for use in garments and equipments sports, in the name and numbers as well as the logos of the sponsors.
The disadvantages of textile vinyl are various, limitation of colors to be printed within the same logo, designs have always vectorized to be cut off by the machinery used, the less resistance to temperature changes and certain washes, because of the plastic bonded by heat.
Sublimation
Sublimation is a chemical process that allows you to transfer ink printed on paper products with a coating of polyester white to give the result of marking to any color or bright clothes, if you want to dial in colors darker than the color of one's own garment. By applying heat and pressure at the same time, the inks are transferred and remain permanently in the object sublimated. The heat will get you the special ink for sublimation pass directly from solid state to gaseous, and since the role will penetrate into the surface of the article. As a result, one gets custom objects with images of maximum sharpness and detail, with a rich color and high durability to washing.
This technique allows you to incorporate a photographic image to a piece of polyester or an article sublimable as for example t-shirts, techniques, ceramic mugs, cushions ,etc...
Sublimation is recommended for:
- Clothes polyester white or very light colour, such as t-shirts or pants sport.
- Gift items such as mugs, photo holder, puzzles, etc... who have been previously treated with polyester.
The advantages of this system customization are the perfect adhesion and resistance to rubbing, washing, and other circumstances, the high-quality terminations with a brightness and colour intensity extraordinary, and the variety of personalized gifts on which you can apply this technique.
The disadvantages in this case are more for us as a manufacturer to the end customer. The products must have a basic white color, it must be pretreated with the polymer that allows the transfer process and are in need of different type of printers and machinery for its application on various products.
Sublimation is the method of customizing most used for photos on mugs, photo holder, boards, glasses, purses, casings, phone, etc..
Digital printing
The digital print is made with cutters that combine the print with eco-solvent inks on various materials and the cutting of impressions according to the stroke marked. It comes to printing your digital files (photos, designs, logos,...) on a special holder, which allows you to transfer to the garment through the application of heat and pressure. The accuracy of the cut, you can make any design.

The advantages of this system are the ability to customize clothing with pictures or designs to full color, no size limit. with a great quality and good adherence on the cotton and the polyester garments.
The disadvantages are several; the high cost of the printing equipment, materials, little or no perspiration on the area apply and touch or body that take the garments, not making them too comfortable dress.
This customization system combines very well for garments and equipments sports, to print the logos or trademarks of sponsors, in full colour and with a good adhesion and resistance to washing. It is recommended to wash on cold and do not tumble dry.
Recommended for:
- Printing of logos in full colour on sports wear or polyester.
- Print canvas exterior, roll-ups, canvas or photo poster.
- Vehicle wraps, window shop or commercial labels.
- Tick to full color promotional objects like key chains.
- Stickers or labels with straight lines, oval or irregular.
Embroidery
Embroidery is the customization system best suited to add value to a garment. It is a technique that is very resistant and of high quality that we recommend mainly for clothing, labour, sports clubs, or events of prestige. We do custom embroidered on t-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies or caps, clothing, work or sports.
We are equipped with machines of multiple heads to embroider all kinds of garments, embroider company logos and emblems sports or regional in its original colors.
All designs must be vectorized to make the program of rearing, which determines the stitch type and floss colors for each part of the design, so that it is necessary to first send the design to calculate the rearing and thus the costs of production of each embroidered in a custom way and thus to be able to facilitate the price of each job.
You have to take into account that the embroidery requires a work slower and more thorough than other techniques, this makes the delivery time will increase slightly.
Advice, we insist that you choose quality clothes and grammage something thick to make the embroidery. It is not worth to choose our t-shirt promotional easiest and most affordable way to bordarla. DTF
The technology of printing DTF is a revolutionary innovation in the industry of textile printing. The name of DTF stands for Direct Transfer Film. The technique consists in a direct printing with a final layer of white ink on a film that manages to keep the inks are much more humid, but avoiding migration and resist high temperatures. With this film we create a transfer to digital, which after adding powder adhesive, polyamide and a process of curing estamparemos on garments by applying heat with an iron.
It is a process of printing fast and easy that the results are high quality, very elastic and resistant to fading. If you are looking for an efficient and cost-effective to print your designs, technology DTF is the best option for you.
The use of white color in the printer is the most innovative and surprising, this new technique of printing. The majority of printers or ploters dtf have a head of colour with inks cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, and another head exclusively with white ink. This novelty of using the white ink opens up all the possibilities for use of the DTF on colored garments, not only about clothes, white or clear. The white color is applied to the end of the print covering the whole of the color image, and serving as back-up.
The inks are more environmentally friendly and certified Eco Passport by Oeko-Tex (the dyes, chemicals and auxiliaries employed in the textile industry to comply with the legal requirements of Oeko-Tex). Do not Damage the health of the people.
Allows you to print on different media types textile (cotton, polyester mixes, non-woven fabrics, leather, synthetic leather, nylon, lycra, etc.) in both white and colors, both light as dark (and even rigid). Its main advantage is that it is more economic that the current techniques of direct printing on textile DTG, screen printing or transfer with white toner. Resist more than 50 washing cycles following the proper recommendations: wash the garment inside out to avoid any friction within the washing machine, do not use bleach because it will damage the clothes and wash them only with dilute cold, never more than 30 degrees.
Advantages on sublimation: in Addition to the polyester allows you to stamp other materials (and without the problem of the color-based) and with less time ironing.
Advantage on the textile vinyl: it does not require peeling for the discard, the dtf is more elastic and less touch, nor do we need to transporter
Advantages over screen printing: lower initial investment, but green not to use just products (screens, emulsion, screen cleaner, water, etc...), the more profitable production of short spin or design variations. Impressions dtf have photographic quality and allow gradients that far outweigh the traditional transfers of screen printing.
As every technique has its drawback, and although the feel is quite good and the elastic does not cease to be a transfer, so the ink next to the adhesive creates a layer in large masses it feels more stiff than screen printing or DTG, which only carry the ink, sublimation or ink discharge remain the best option for sportswear or touch zero.
